An exhibition that brings together the work of six artists—Mel Malone, Chloe Foster, Fernando Serrano, Dale Miller, Char Green and Ash Dahlke—whose shared studio environment has cultivated an ongoing dialogue through material exploration and artistic exchange.

All six artists work out of the Fine Arts Studio at Cochise College’s Douglas Campus and reside in the Bisbee area. Working in proximity has created a dynamic studio culture where ideas, techniques, and feedback circulate freely.

Material Conversations reflects both the individuality of each artist’s practice and the shared creative ecosystem that has emerged within their studio community. The exhibition features a diverse range of media, including sculptural ceramics, drawings, fiber works, and paintings. The works demonstrate a variety of formal approaches while revealing common threads in material use, process, and thematic inquiry.
Many of the artists draw inspiration from the desert landscape and the layered cultural environment of the borderlands, grounding their work in place while exploring broader conversations around form, texture, and transformation.
The public is invited to attend the opening reception on April 25 from 6–8:30 PM and experience this vibrant exchange of ideas, materials, and artistic perspectives.
The exhibition will be on view at the Central School Project exhibition space from April 25 through May 10, 2026
