Portrait Painting Fundamentals

This class will focus on the basics of portrait painting using a simple palette. We will start with a demonstration by Clement, during which he will cover:

After the demonstration, students will start their own paintings. During this time Clement will circulate and offer help and input as needed.​​​

Suggested Supplies

Notebook or sketchbook
Easels are provided, but feel free to bring your own plain air easel if desired.
A couple panels or canvases (8"x10" or 11" x 14")
Odorless mineral spirits
Paper Towels
Brushes
Palette Knife
Oil paints (I recommend oils but water soluble oils and Acrylic paint are fine too):
