BISBEE SCIENCE LAB CALL FOR PROPOSALS
Open Call for STEAM Installation Proposals. Theme: FOOD – Exhibition: mid-September through mid-December 2019
Keywords: growing, sustaining, plentiful, scarce, food requires food, life cycle
The Bisbee Science Exploration and Research Center (BSERC) and its Bisbee Science Lab are seeking proposals from science or arts minded people (hopefully a collaboration of both) for installation works based on the theme, FOOD.
Keep in mind that exhibits should be STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) related and encourage interaction with your audience.
Installation(s) will be curated from proposals submitted and awardees will receive up to $3,000 in a cash award per selected proposal to support (in whole or in part) efforts to design, build, transport, and install their exhibit at the Bisbee Science Lab located at 24 Main Street in Bisbee Arizona. Collaborations between scientists, researchers, artists, kids, and/or general public are encouraged though not required.
Installations will be on display at the Bisbee Science Lab for three months. Creators may choose to allow BSL to lend the installation to other venues in the region for up to one year or may take possession of the installation at the end of the show period.
BSERC will work with selected creators to finalize a budget and to determine how awards will be made available (advances are possible; however, reimbursements are a preferred method).
BSERC will provide marketing and publicity and host an opening for creators and the general public.
